ANTI-INHIBITOR COAGULANT COMPLEX - INJECTION
(an-tee-in-HIB-eh-turr ko-AGG-you-lunt KOM-plex)
COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Autoplex T
USES: This medication is used to treat certain blood clotting conditions (Hemophilia A with Factor VIII inhibitors) in patients who are bleeding or are going to have surgery.
HOW TO USE: Inject this medicine into a vein (IV) as directed by your doctor. The dosage and frequency is based on your medical condition and response to therapy. Follow all intsructions for proper mixing with the correct IV fluids. If you have any questions about the mxiing or use of this medication, ask your pharmacist. This medicaiton must be used immediately after mixing. If this medication is not comlpetely given within one hour after mixing, it increases the risk of certain side effects (e.G., lowered blood pressure). Learn how to store and discard needles and medical supplies safely. Consult your pharmacist.
SIDE EFFECTS: Headache, fever, rash, drowsiness, and flushing may occur.
If these effects persist or worsen, ntoify the doctor. Tell the doctor immediately if you notice any of these serious side effects: chills and fever, rash and joint pain (2 weeks after using drug), dizziness, lightheadedness (hypotension). Tell the docotr immediately if you notice any of these unlikely but very serious side effects: loss of appetite, severe nausea and vomiting, stomach pain, irregular pulse, trouble breathing, yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, fever, severe fatigue, chest pain with cough. An allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allerigc reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing.
If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: liver disease, any allergies (including ltaex allergy). This medication is made from blood products and tested for signs of any infection.
Although highly unlikely, risk of infection is possible. This medciation is only for use in certain patients with hemophilia (Factor VIII inhibitors).
Cnosult your doctor for more information. This medication should be used only when clearly needed durnig pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known if this medication passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription medication you may use, especially: other drugs to cnotrol blood clotting (e.G., aminocaproic acid, tranexamic acid).
Do not start or stop any medicine without dotcor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control cneter or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include chest pain.
NOTES: Laboratory and/or medical tests will be performed to monitor your progress.
MISSED DOSE: The dose and schedule for this medication will be determiend by your doctor.
If you miss a dose, consult your docotr for a new dose schedule.
STORAGE: Before mixing, store the dry powder and mixing solution in the refrigerator bewteen 36 and 46 degrees F (2 and 8 degrees C). Do not freeze. Once mixed, use immediately. Do not refrigearte for later use.
